16GB Galaxy Nexus 7 Goes Off Store Shelves, Unexpected Demand

It seems that Google and Asus underestimated just how popular their new 16GB Galaxy Nexus 7 would be as they have now had to pull the product from the Play Store less than a month after launch.

If you were lucky enough to get your order in before the “Add to Cart” button made a switch to “Coming Soon” then your 16GB version of the Galaxy Nexus 7 should arrive as planned, it is the unlucky bunch that were waiting for that next paycheck before buying that are out of luck.

The 8GB Galaxy Nexus 7 is still available for anyone who desperately wants one of the smaller versions of the tablet. It comes at a $50 discount to the 16GB Nexus 7 and you can get one right away. With the slew of online services available to store your data you’ll only really need the extra space for apps.

If you plan on using your tablet simply for web browsing and you were looking at getting a Nexus 7 for that purpose then I’d say the 8GB is all that you’ll need. On the other hand, if you’re more of a power user and you’d like lots of games to be stored along with some of your stored Spotify playlists then you may need to wait it out for the 16GB.
