Thin 15-inch MacBook Pro Coming With Retina and USB 3.0
It would seem as though the delay from the supposed April release of this years MacBook Pro lines may be worth it after all. MacRumors is reporting that the new MacBook Pro will likely be coming with a Retina display as well as a much sleeker body due to the removal of the optical drive.
The new MacBook Pros will not only lose the optical drive but they will also lose the dedicated Ethernet ports. Users of Ethernet will have to buy the Ethernet to USB dongle that came out at the time of the MacBook Air.
Now, what is included? Well, there is the MagSafe for charging, three USB ports, audio jacks, battery status indicators, Thunderbolt ports, SD card slot and a Kensington lock slot. Those USB ports on the new MacBook air are rumored to be USB 3.0 which wouldn’t really surprise me as Apple typically likes to put the newest standards in their laptops.
The bigger rumor is obviously the Retina display. It was only a matter of time until the Retina display came to the MacBook and it seems the time has come. Updates to the OS in version 10.7.4 point towards higher resolution icons, which were probably designed to look sharper on the high res Retina display. A Retina display would definitely be a huge selling point in the new devices that could prompt many to upgrade.
