Check Out the Solowheel – The “People Mover” from CES

Here is a weird one from CES 2012. It is called the Solowheel, a single wheeled gyroscopic “people mover.” Think of it like a Segway but without the handlebars. Better yet, don’t think! Just watch this video from the Solowheel website:

The Solowheel has a 1000-watt motor which can move you close to 20-miles on a single two-hour charge. The Solowheel can also capture energy from going downhill so I guess the potential is endless if you’re willing, and crazy enough, to cruise downhill on this thing. It will take you 30-minutes to learn to ride and get comfortable with it. The Solowheel can be bought online for $1795.
