Dell Joins Ultrabook Craze with XPS 13
If you want a Ultrabook this year you definitely don’t have only a few items to choose from. Dell added to that pile today with the XPS 13.
The XPS 13 is a thin and high-performance laptop with a screen measuring 13.3-inches. Unlike most other laptops where there is an edge around the screen, the XPS 13 screen goes right the way to the edges of the monitor making the footprint of the Ultrabook smaller than some 13-inch counterparts.
The XPS will come with flash memory in tow for some fast booting using Intel’s new Rapid Start technology. The thickest point of the laptop is 18mm, thicker than some TV’s but very slender for a laptop. The keyboard on the XPS is backlit and you can pick up one of these laptops with one of Intel’s Core i series chips.
Other features of the XPS include a glass track-pad, 128 or 256 GB of flash memory and a USB 3.0 port for fast transfer to your gadgets.
The Ultrabook will be priced under $1000 and will ship this February.
