LG Unveils 55-inch, 4mm thick OLED TV at CES
LG today at CES unveiled a TV that is just mind-blowing. Weighing in at 7.5KG, this is one light 55-inch TV. What makes it even better is that it is only 4mm thick (thinnest point)! That makes it thinner than a DVD case.
Those who were at the conference described the quality as a “thing of beauty” that was “clear from even a ways back in the room.”
There was, of course, no mention of an availability date on the OLED TV from LG and no mention of pricing. The TV will probably be expensive with amount of research that has gone into creating such a panel. I feel that we will see it in the market by the end of the year with a 5-digit price tag that will quickly fall to the sub-2,000 region within 5-years if the plasma TV trends were anything to go by.
